“Historic Lamp Post at Whitehall and Alabama Sts., S. E. This old lamp has gaping holes in its base, caused by Federal shells during the bombardment of Atlanta in 1864. The flame which burns always is called ‘The Eternal Flame of the Confederacy.’”
